THE EMPOWERMENT ZONE BLOG: A TIMELY WORD TO ENCOURAGE, EXHORT AND EDIFY:Vol 4, Blog 6-What Is In Your Toolbox: A Three Lesson Series- Lesson 3-Conclusionof the Toolbox Series

Lesson 3- the Conclusion of the TOOL BOX SERIES

The first lesson- we opened the toolbox and learned to identify the tools. The second lesson, we learned how to use the tools.

The Review

My proposed definition of the toolbox: – is our God given natural unique gifts and talents within us waiting to be used or sharpened.  I am not speaking of the spiritual or practical serving gifts here although the stirring up and exercising of those gifts enhance your natural gifts.

God assigns gifts and talents to us. We should use these tools to build the kingdom.

The acronym from the two previous lessons is “KISS THE SUN”-that is SUN

As this Series Concludes-we must remain stedfast on being good stewards of our tools and we need to keep them sharp.

To complete our phrase, I am going to add the word today-

THUS OUR PHRASE IS COMPLETE KISS THE SUN TODAY

The learning outcome: Learn to keep your tools sharp by constant use and staying ready .

LETS GO THROUGH THIS ADDITIONAL WORD- Today

T= teach future generations-Scripture reference- Genesis 47:3

And Pharaoh said unto his brethren, What is your occupation? And they said unto Pharaoh, Thy servants are shepherds, both we, and also our fathers.

From this scripture, we observe that Joseph has explained to Pharoah that their  family skill/tool was handling cattle. They were shepherds, Notice that they said we and our fathers. Indeed Jacob handled cattle-Genesis 30:29-31, demonstrates this points. Lets read this story of the conversation between Jacob and Laban

Genesis 30: 29 And he said unto him, Thou knowest how I have served thee, and how thy cattle was with me.30 For it was little which thou hadst before I came, and it is now increased unto a multitude; and the Lord hath blessed thee since my coming: and now when shall I provide for mine own house also?31 And he said, What shall I give thee? And Jacob said, Thou shalt not give me any thing: if thou wilt do this thing for me, I will again feed and keep thy flock. We see from the story that Jacob handled cattle as did his future sons.

One of the ways in which our tools remain sharp and relevant is that we teach the next generation. By teaching we are practicing,.. staying ready and using our tools and the next generation is being educated.

Let me use my family as a current example. My maternal grandmother and her sisters were cooks and bakers and organizers of social events. They hosted and entertained saints from many reformations. My mother and her sisters likewise. My mother taught her children, so the unique tool of the love of cooking/ entertaining, organizing social events and hosting God’s people is alive and well in my generation.  Myself, my brothers and sisters all exhibit some degree of this family talent, and yes the next generation is being trained.

T- Teach future generations

O= Offer yourself for service whenever possible- Psalms 116:12-12 What shall I render unto the Lord for all his benefits toward me? BE AVAILABLE TO GOD

D=DO NO HARM- don’t use your expertise to harm, or disrespect others, don’t misappropriate your gift or tool/Remember the story of Balaam in Numbers 22, he was willing to misappropriate his gift to harm others and Gods anger was kindled against him

Proverbs 18:16-16 A man’s gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men.

A=accept continuous instruction-we are students, the Lord himself is the master teacher,  thus allow space for the logos and the  rhema word to instruct you

Read and study your bible-2 Timothy 2:15-15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. Be sensitive to the many diffent ways in which Gods speaks to us.

Y=YES LORD I WILL OBEY. This is what God wants- servants who will say completely Yes
